Siborg was established in february 1994. The main objective of the company is the development and production of educational, engineering and scientific software tools.

We work on software package microtec for two-dimensional semiconductor process and device simulation. By now microtec has been used by more than 30 companies and 100 universities in 28 countries, including hitachi, national semiconductor, ntt, university of california at berkeley and tokyo institute of technology. A limited version of microtec was published by wiley in 2000, supplementing textbook 'semiconductor devices explained'. A few japanese universities actively use microtec to teach semiconductor device physics.

We have also developed and maintain siblin: A solver for poisson/diffusion/heat transfer equation. Siblin has been licensed to spectrian (santa clara, california), northern telecom (ottawa) and waterloo hydrogeologic inc.

Recently we participated in development and production of smart tweezers: High precision digital automatic multimeter specifically designed for use in surface mount device technology.

Our primary software product is microtec: Software for semiconductor process and device simulation. Microtec brakes traditional barrier between state-of-the-art tcad tools widely used in semiconductor industry and educational use of these hard-to-use software tools. Due to its simplicity microtec is widely accepted by educational institutions. On the other hand microtec possesses most of the conventional tcad tools' capabilities making it an indispensable tool for process engineers.

We work on orchem: Interactive educational software tool for chemistry education. High flexibility of the tool allows to interpret complex organic formulae. Besides it gives an ability to create a student-computer dialogues with almost unlimited complexity.

Our latest activity is smart tweezers: High precision digital automatic multimeter specifically designed for use in surface mount technology. It has a unique patented design integrating tweezers with a miniature measuring unit and display. It is a unique one-hand held device for small smt component handling and unrivaled identification tool.

Smart tweezers is an r-l-c meter in a set of tweezers. Smart tweezers features a unique patented mechanical and electronic design that incorporates a built-in direct precision smd probe designed for component evaluation on the production line, component impedance testing and sortingof smd components. Smart tweezers dramatically cuts the time necessary to troubleshoot and debug a complex pcb making process of locating of a faulty component a breeze.
